Zoe

Zoe really must have been missing her mommy, because when I got home from work, she brought me here favorite toy and planted her self on top of me.

May Arts Ribbon Fun!

Hello,
Today I want to share with you a fun way to use the May Arts Lace Ribbon 390-58-09.
The first thing I did was cut a piece of white card stock to 5”x3 ¾”.  I cut 7 pieces of the lace ribbon just longer than 5”.  I laid them over the white card stock one at a time, interlocking the arches in the ribbon, taping each ribbon with removable tape at both ends.

Next I pulled out my Memento Grape Jelly, and Bahama Blue ink pads along with a blue and purple stipple brush.

I stippled all over the lace covered paper, with the Bahama Blue, making sure to leave no white paper showing, I stippled over the blue in places with the Grape Jelly. This is a neat way to create a fun design on paper using your favorite lace ribbon as a mask.

I then carefully pulled the paper out from under the lace, making sure not to move the lace.
I then slid the paper back under the lace the opposite direction; I repeated the stippling steps from above to create a grid pattern.  Because the paper was not completely covered by the ribbon, I did the half that was, then moved the paper over, and repeated to get the effect on the rest of the paper.
Here you can see the pattern that has emerged on the paper after using the lace as a mask, in both directions.

I then found a sheet of purple card stock that matched the purple I had been using to stipple with.  I also got out my VersaMark ink pad, my favorite detail white embossing powder and the Verses Rubber Stamp “Bright Hopes Anniversary” (MA0322-F).  I stamped the saying in the VersaMark on the purple card stock.  I poured the detail white embossing powder over the stamped image, and taped the excess back into the jar.  I heated it to melt the embossing powder.  I then cut out the saying with Spellbinders Labels One using my Cuttlebug.

I then wrapped a piece of the lace ribbon around the saying knotting it on the front and cut the ends at a diagonal.

I pulled the background back out, along with a piece of the purple that is 5 1/2” x 4 and a sheet of blue cardstock that is 8 ½” x 5 ½”.  I scored the blue piece at 4 ½”.  I centered purple card stock on the blue card base and the pattern on the purple card stock.

I then used foam dots to attach the purple cardstock with the ribbon around it to the card base.  I used Liquid Pearls Ocean Blue to create dots in the two corners of the card, and set it aside to dry.

Hope you enjoyed!

Viva Las Vegas Stamps Design Team

Hello Everyone,

I am applying for the Viva Las Vegas Stamps Design Team, I am very excited for the chance to be part of this team, and LOVE using the unique designs they have.

For my first project I created a card using Viva Las Vegas Stamps "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" and "Heart, Spade, Club, Diamond 1 1/2" Cube".

I started out with a piece of Neenah Solar White paper cut to 5"x3 3/4".  I then got out my "Heart, Spade, Club, Diamond 1 1/2" Cube"  and Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Barn Door, and Black Soot.  I stamped the suits in there corresponding color.  For the first row I stamped the Heart in Barn Door, then the Spade in Black Soot, the Diamond in Barn Door, the Club in Black soot and repeated til I was out of room.  For the next row I started with the Spade and repeated the rest of the suits.  The third row is started with the Diamond, and the fourth row with the Club.  Be careful not to ink the wrong suit in the wrong color, a black heart or a red club wont give the same effect. (This is an awesome way to use a stamp to create your own paper)
Next I got out a stipple brush, and stippled around the stamped images with the Barn Door ink, This softens the white between the suits.
I cut a piece of black cardstock to 5 1/4"x 4" and attached the white piece with the suites stamped on it to it.  I cut a sheet of 8 1/2" x11" cardstock in half at 5 1/2" and then scored it at 4 1/4" to create an A2 card, then attached the back and white card stock to it.

I set the card base and background aside and pulled out my "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" Stamp, VersaMark ink pad, Candy Red Embossing Powder and my heat gun.  I stamped "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" on to a piece of black card stock in the VersaMark ink.  I then poured Candy Red Embossing Powder on to it.  I covered the entire image, then poured the excess Embossing Powder back into the bottle.  I then heated the image until all of the Embossing Powder was melted.  I let it cool for a few minutes, before cutting around the image with a pair of detail scissors.  I used mounting foam to pop it up and centered it on the background I created earlier with the "Heart, Spade, Club, Diamond 1 1/2" Cube" Stamp.

The second card I created uses Viva Las Vegas Stamps "Labrador Retriever Dog"

I started by stamping "Labrador Retriever Dog" in Memento Tuxedo Black on the Copic X-Press It paper.  I pulled out my Copic Markers and started coloring.  I started by coloring the Dog with Y21, and Y32, then the water with B32.  Next I colored the Bucket with C00, C1, and C4.  The Grass with colored with G05, the bottles of soap with RV29 and E18, and I finished it by coloring the sky with B0000.  Below is a close up of the imaged colored.

I got out my Spellbinder Nestabilities Labels One and my Cuttlebug.  I centered the die around the image and cut it out.  I got out some blue paper and cut out the size above what I had used for the stamped image and cut out a mat to match.
I found some ribbon with muddy dog prints on it, and cut a piece just bigger then my card.  I found my Xyron X Sticker Maker and ran the ribbon thru it.
I cut a peice of gray paper to 5 1/4" x 4" and attached the ribbon to one side of it.  I cut a sheet of green card stock(8 1/2" x 11") in half at 5 1/2" and then scored it at 4 1/4" to create an A2 card.  I attached the gray paper to the green card base, then used foam tape to pop up the stamped image and its mat up.

Try some of these techniques out and see what you can come up with!

Hope you enjoyed!

Barn Yard Bonanza!

Hello Everyone,

Tomorrow Night (Wednesday) and Saturday I will be teaching a class full of funny animals at The Stamp Addict.  Here are a few of the 8 cards we will be making.  There is still room in the class if anyone is interested.

They are all stamps by a new company I fell in love with at CHA called Your Next Stamp.  They are awesome to work with, and have adorable images.

Happy Crafting.
